I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adults with a variety of concerns including:

  • Eating Disorders
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Mood and Anxiety Disorders
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Psychotic symptoms
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Complex family dynamics
  • Gender and sexuality issues

You may benefit from an assessment with me if one of the following situations describes you:

  1. You are seeking a second opinion about your diagnosis or your care.
  2. Your primary care provider may be able to treat you, but they need input and guidance from a psychiatrist first.
  3. You are not sure what kind of treatment would be best for you, so you would like an expert assessment first.

The initial appointment will be a 90-minute session. For children and adolescents, caregivers will be an integral part of the consultation.  As part of the evaluation process, I will order any necessary tests, review relevant records, and contact other treatment providers or support-people who we agree would be helpful resources. Sometimes, after gathering information from other providers, we may decide that a few additional follow-up sessions are necessary in order to make the evaluation complete. I take the time to be thorough so that patients and families feel comfortable and understood. I will provide comprehensive feedback to you and to any providers who are central in your care.

Currently, I do not offer traditional ongoing psychiatric medication management treatment in this practice, but I do input about medications to you and your team as part of my second opinion evaluations. I ensure that we discuss these matters collaboratively and I take each patient’s personal and family factors into account.
